
African Risotto style Samp & Mixed Grill
Ingredients:
Meat (any variety of meat you like)
1 Cup quick cook Samp
2 Tbs Butter
1 tsp Aromat
Braai spice
1 Tbs crushed Garlic
1 whole Onion diced
1 tsp Mixed Herbs
Instructions:
This one is short and sweet but once you perfect the samp it will become your go-to quick braai time side dish.
Boil 1 cup of quick cook samp for about 30min in roughly 1.5L of water.
Strain excess water off and place the cooked samp in a bowl.
In a pan add your butter and onion and fry till golden brown. Add in your garlic and cook for a few minutes till it’s light brown.
Add in your already cooked samp and the remaining herbs and spices and fry it while continually mixing it for about 3 minutes.
Take it off the heat and serve it with any dish for a quick and easy favorite for any occasion.
I found it pairs best with a nice variety of meat grilled on our trusty COBB Grill.
